There is no doubt about it, radio controlled cars have definitely come a long way since first being placed on toy store shelves in the 1940s. Early models of radio controlled cars had the capacity to reach up to 70 miles per hour, but were only able to do so while running in circles.
Today’s radio controlled cars have more sophisticated technology. There is also wider range of radio controlled cars, including electric rc cars for fans to choose from.
One of the most popular manufacturers of radio controlled cars today is Traxxas. The company began its journey in 1986 in hopes of producing a newly innovated series of hobby class radio controlled cars. Their vision was simple. While their competitors were selling unassembled radio controlled cars, Traxxas wanted to create radio controlled cars that came fully assembled and ready to use right out of the box. Although their rc cars were slow to catch on to consumers, today Traxxas is now the number one seller of nitro and electric radio controlled cars.
The Traxxas 4-Tec model of rc cars is one of their newest, and most popular series. This electric 4 wheel drive sedan car is capable of reaching speeds over 70 miles per hour. It comes with XL-1 electronic speed control, which provides these rc cars with more driving control and extended running time on the track. The 4-Tec is built with a Stinger-20 turn motor, providing more power than many other radio controlled cars. The graphics on the Traxxas 4-Tech rc cars are even available in four different color schemes. Recently, the Traxxas 4-Tec was honored by Radio Control Car Action magazine with the 2007 Readers Choice Award for the best nitro on-road car based on its high speed, electric power, and phenomenal graphics.
Another Traxxas model of electric radio controlled cars is the 2-wheel drive Spirit street truck. The Spirit model was designed for those just beginning their adventures with rc cars. This model can reach speeds over 27 miles per hour. Although the Spirit is not as fast as the 4-Tech, it comes fully loaded with the Stinger-20 turn motor and oil filled shocks, which provide a faster smoother driving rc car. In addition, the Spirit features independent front wheel suspension and extra wide racing tires.
Traxxas offers their Spirit radio controlled cars in 4 different color schemes. Owners of the Traxxas Spirit radio controlled cars will also need to purchase a 6-cell nickel cadmium flat car battery pack, car battery charger, and eight AA batteries for the radio controller. The website, Hobbytron.com, offers package deals for lovers of the Traxxas Spirit for only $194.32. These package deals includes the TQ 2-channel Top Qualifier Radio Controller.
When feeling the need for radio controlled speed, Traxxas rc cars are clearly a great choice. They have been producing fully assembled radio controlled cars with the best technology and designs for over 20 years. By purchasing Traxxas radio controlled cars, rc car owners are sure to stop their racing partners dead in their tracks.
